Every holiday season, the U.S. Postal Service gets flooded with letters to Santa—most from kids asking for basics, not toys. That’s where Operation Santa comes in. It started as a way to make sure those heartfelt letters didn’t go unanswered. We built a system to safely handle the letters—removing personal info and giving each one a unique ID to keep things private. Then we created a website where anyone could read the letters and choose one to respond to.
The whole experience is simple, genuine, and easy to share—perfect for the season of giving. These days, people want to help real people, not just donate to big organizations. Operation Santa makes that possible. There’s something powerful about holding a child’s handwritten wish in your hands—it turns giving into something deeply personal.
In 2024, we took the program to the next level by teaming up with Toys“R”Us. The partnership made it even easier for people to adopt letters and send gifts across the country—bringing a modern touch to a timeless holiday tradition.
The program even inspired a heartfelt documentary film, capturing the magic of the USPS and the incredible people who work behind the scenes to turn holiday wishes into reality. It’s a tribute to the compassion, dedication, and quiet heroism that brings joy to countless families each year.
